Louis Gossett Jr. recently learned he has prostate cancer, but it is in an early stage, the actor said Tuesday.

"I count this diagnosis among the many challenges I have faced in my life and overcome," Gossett said in a statement. "I expect this to be no different."

I just read on here today that he has prostate cancer, he is one of my favorite actors, always seemed so matter of fact about his characters, I wish the best for him and his family, and will have all of them in my prayers! -Chelle
