Salinger's "Catcher in the Rye" was the book John Lennon's killer was reading, when he was arrested. Apparently powerful stuff, although I've never read it.

I read his book in high school and liked it. What a good writer. He will be missed.

I loved the work so much and it plugged into my life like it was carved just for me. I named my late son "Holden" after the book. Some things just don't need more explanation.
