J.D. Salinger, Catcher in the Rye, dies 91

Jerome David "J. D." Salinger (January 1, 1919 – January 27, 2010) was an American author, best known for his 1951 novel The Catcher in the Rye, as well as his reclusive nature. His last original published work was in 1965; he gave his last interview in 1980.

I read his book in high school and liked it. What a good writer. He will be missed.

I loved the work so much and it plugged into my life like it was carved just for me. I named my late son "Holden" after the book. Some things just don't need more explanation.
