Bryant Gumbel Says He's Recovering From Lung Cancer

On December 8, 2009, Bryant Gumbel announced that he had cancer surgery two months earlier to remove a malignant tumor on his lung. The announcement came on "Live! with Regis and Kelly," with Gumbel filling in for Regis Philbin, who recently underwent successful hip replacement surgery.

Bryant Charles Gumbel (born September 29, 1948) is an American television journalist and sportscaster. He is best known for his 15 years as co-host of NBC's The Today Show. He is the younger brother of sportscaster Greg Gumbel.

I lost my husband on June 27, 2009, due to lung cancer. I will keep Bryant in my prayers and hope that he will survive what my husband couldn't.
