(video) General Petraeus Collapses in Hearing

Gen. David Petraeus slumped over Tuesday morning during a Senate hearing, but revived after a few seconds and left the room under his own power. After about 20 minutes he returned to the hearing room.

David Howell Petraeus (born November 7, 1952) is a General in the United States Army and the 10th and current Commander of the U.S. Central Command.

Some news reports have speculated that Petraeus may have interest in running for the presidency, especially after he visited a school known for hosting the presidential debates, Saint Anselm College. Despite these accounts, Petraeus has categorically asserted that he has no political ambitions.

Prostate cancer
General Petraeus was diagnosed with early-stage prostate cancer in February 2009 and underwent two months of successful radiation treatment at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. The diagnosis and treatment was not publicly disclosed until October 2009 because Petraeus and his family regarded his illness as a personal matter that did not interfere with the performance of his duties.

Re: (video) General Petraeus Collapses in Hearing

Since I have a brother-in-law who has served under General Petraeus I happen to know that he just might be one of our best in the military today (perhaps the best) and it hurts me to see comments made in jest as the one I just read concerning McCain. I feel sure that MOST Americans would frown on the lack of respect shown to the General as well as McCain! Shame on people who take such events as a reason to joke! Sincerely. Stiches

I think McCain put him to sleep as he almost did me watching the video.

Very inappropriate comment. Very funny.

Re: (video) General Petraeus Collapses in Hearing

get well soon, Sir. we usually don't think of our military leaders until they pass away. we need our country to embrace our military, for the duty they perform overseas, and stateside as well. being remindful of the General Officers of our Armed Services, and their proud leadership, i wish someday our leaders will reinstore the 5-star rank of "General of the Army", as so MANY of the HEROS of our military leadership deserve. HOOAH!! Sam Downey
