Re: Dennis Weaver, McCloud, died of cancer 81
Way back when our only TV received three channels, Gunsmoke night was an event. I always liked Dennis Weaver in his role as Chester. He of course went on to bigger and better things. Speaking of Gunsmoke, did you know that James Arness' brother is Peter Graves of Mission Impossible fame. Another show that our family never missed. Graves is still alive at age 83. And in case anybody is interested, James Arness played the part of The Thing in the movie of the same name. I'm speaking of the original in 1951.

I'll always remember Dennis Weaver as Chester on Gunsmoke; and I have an autographed polaroid picture of him, my mother and two of her friends taken in Branson, Missouri.
