On 31 August 2010 Douglas appeared on The David Letterman Show and confirmed that the cancer is at an advanced stage 4

It was announced on 16th of August 2010 that Douglas, a heavy smoker, was suffering from throat cancer and will undergo chemotherapy. Doctors expect him to make a full recovery.

Zsa Zsa Gabor asked for a priest to read her the last rites as she remained in an extremely serious condition in hospital.

After hip-replacement surgery Zsa Zsa Gabor was sent home from the UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center on August 11th. However, on Aug. 13, Gabor rushed back to the hospital due to bleeding and in a lot of pain.

Fantasia Barrino was hospitalized Charlotte, N.C. for medication overdose.  Fantasia was overdosed on aspirin and sleep aid.  Her injuries are not life threatening.

It was reported on July 23, 2010 that singer Al Jarreau (70 yrs old) was critically ill at a hospital in France, and was being treated for respiratory problems. He had been taken to the intensive care unit at Gap late on July 22, 2010. He was in the area to perform a concert at nearby Barcelonnette

In mid July, 2010, actor Tony Curtis was hospitalized in Las Vegas after sufferring an asthma attack during a book signing engagement in Henderson, Nevada at Costco

He is scheduled to be released soon.

He has played a variety of roles, from light comedy, such as the musician on the run from gangsters in Some Like It Hot, to serious dramatic roles, such as an escaped convict in The Defiant Ones, which earned him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actor. Since 1949, he has appeared in more than 100 films and has made frequent television appearances.

On July 17, 2010, Gabor was hospitalized after she fell out of her bed while watching television at her home in Bel Air, Los Angeles. She remains hospitalized in serious condition at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. She suffered several broken bones.

Gabor was a passenger in an automobile accident that occurred on November 27, 2002. She was initially reported as being in a coma when she was actually conscious at the time medical assistance arrived. She left the hospital in early January 2003, but required continued physical therapy. Gabor sued the driver of the car, her hairdresser Jaren Millard, and was awarded $2 million.

On July 7, 2005, she suffered a massive stroke, leaving her in a critical condition at a local hospital. She underwent surgery to remove a blockage in her carotid artery. She returned home on July 15. In early September 2007, she underwent surgery to deal with after-effects of her previous stroke. On September 18, 2007, aged 90, she underwent surgery to treat a leg infection, which developed as a result of her immobility.

June 27, 2010, Jennifer Capriati (former World No. 1 women's tennis player) was rushed to a hospital after paramedics responded to a call for an "accidental overdose" of a prescribed weight-loss medication. The call came from a hotel in Riviera Beach, Florida. Her father reported that Capriati was recovering well after the incident

Michael Jackson’s youngest brother has been rushed to the hospital after suffering a mild heart attack.

Randy Jackson, 48, was immediately taken to Huntington Memorial in Pasadena, California, after he began experience chest pains earlier today.

He was working on arrangements for a service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park to mark the first anniversary of the pop star's death on June 25.

Gen. David Petraeus slumped over Tuesday morning during a Senate hearing, but revived after a few seconds and left the room under his own power. After about 20 minutes he returned to the hearing room.

David Howell Petraeus (born November 7, 1952) is a General in the United States Army and the 10th and current Commander of the U.S. Central Command.

Some news reports have speculated that Petraeus may have interest in running for the presidency, especially after he visited a school known for hosting the presidential debates, Saint Anselm College. Despite these accounts, Petraeus has categorically asserted that he has no political ambitions.

General Petraeus was diagnosed with early-stage prostate cancer in February 2009 and underwent two months of successful radiation treatment at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. The diagnosis and treatment was not publicly disclosed until October 2009 because Petraeus and his family regarded his illness as a personal matter that did not interfere with the performance of his duties.
