This post is for future reference. What was going on on January & February of 2011 * Each story was too insignificant to be posted individually. - Charlie Sheen went on many TV shows and ranted on his boss. Top rated show Two and a Half Men got canceled. 200 crews lost jobs.
- Cristina Aguilera: After forgetting lyrics to Stars Spangled Banner on Superbowl, she tumbled on the stage at Grammy. Then she was booked on public intoxication.
- Lindsay Lohan was charged with grand theft ($25,000.00 necklace). Story is still unfolding.
- John Galliano (fashion designer) got fired by Christian Dior after he was caught making anti-semitic remarks. ("I love Hitler" "Your forefathers would all have been gassed" he said)
- Borders filed for bankruptcy - planned to close hundreds of stores.
Let me know if I'm forgetting any more trivia events.

complete news from Fox411 ### Lindsay Lohan may be behind bars, but she is making more money there than she's made in the last year. The actress managed to finalize TV and news deals the night before she went off to the clink. Sources tell Fox 411 that she locked down all her tell-all interviews already and she will likely be making seven figures when it is all said and done for her story from jail.

In May 20, 2010, after missing a mandatory court hearing stemming from her 2007 DUI case, Beverly Hills Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel issued a warrant for the arrest of the 23-year-old actress.
According to Lohan's lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, Lohan had good reason for not showing up to court: She's stuck at the Cannes Film Festival, where her passport was stolen.

Ellen Degeneres, not known for her singing talent but her bad comedy, signed a 5 year deal to be the 4th judge at American Idol.
I guess 7 years is up.
I think the show is now becoming a freak show. They used to discover great "American Idols" such as Ruben Studdard and Justin Guarini.
They should pull Simon Cowell and put Pauly Shore instead. Why not go all the way?

There is a rumor going on in the WWW (among younger generation folks). The rumor says the Hip Hop (rap) artist Lil Wayne's daughter Reginae is killed in a car accident Sunday, August 10, 2008. But everyone related to Reginae says she's alive and well. This is becomeing a news right now.

On April 24, 2008, Snipes was sentenced to three years in prison for willful failure to file federal income tax returns under 26 U.S.C. § 7203.
Snipes failed to pay approximately $70,000 in local property taxes, interest and penalties on a home in Alpine, New Jersey, owned by his company, Kymberlyte Production Services International, Inc. In December 2007, the taxing authority of the borough of Alpine, New Jersey sold the tax lien on the home to a third party. Snipes has two years to redeem the property or risk foreclosure. In 2005, Snipes defaulted on California property taxes, owing over $171,000 in property taxes in that state.] As of February 2008, a home owned by Snipes in Florida is subject to delinquent property taxes of over $15,000 ###

This was a minor new and detail is sketchy.
A construction worker was found dead (hung) at Mel Gibson's property in Agoura Hills. The person who died later identified as a construction foreman who helped created movie sets for some major movies including one of the Matrix trilogy.
Mel Gibson never lived in the property. Mel Gibson has a church in the property. Mel's daughter was married in that church.

After our beloved Johnny Grant's passing, Hollywood is looking for a new honorary mayor of Hollywood. It's all good and normal. What turns my stomach is that Hollywood is considering the billboard model Angelyne as one of the strong candidates. There are better qualifying candidates such as Monty Hall (Let's Make a Deal). He's a Canadian but I will take Monty over Angelyne anytime.
I have a feeling that Angelyne will not become the honorary mayor of Hollywood. But, just the fact that she is being considered is an embarrassment to the world. Hollywood is losing it's class. I am very disappointed at this.
All the classy people in Hollywood are either dead or dying. Pretty soon, the only people left will be the ones who flash their camel toes and shoot sex movies of themselves. Disgusting... I'm going to puke.

Paris Hilton was ready to attend Academy Award ceremony. She spent $3.8 million on her dress alone. But the Academy banned Paris Hilton from Oscar Award and all affiliated after parties. Paris then wanted to attend Vanity Fair party, but Vanity Fair party was cancelled due to recent writers strike. She ended up leaving town for her own party. A few weeks ago, Paris Hilton's latest movie 'The Hottie and the Nottie' grossed about $9,000 in the opening weekend. This year's Academy Award had THE worst TV rating in Oscar History. I am not surprised. I don't find Jon Stewart remotely funny. In fact, he is really annoying. OK, I'll be honest, I hate that mofo. Johnny Carson was the best. Conan O'Brian was pretty good too. I never watch Oscar award on TV. It's a total waste of time. Also, this year, a lot of foreigners won major awards. Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men) gave his acceptance speech in Spanish. I thought that was wrong. Well, I guess it's good that Javier Bardem wasn't from Iraq. People obviously lose interest on Oscar because we have all the young bloods turning Hollywood into a freak show. For example, Ryan Seacrest has a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame. I rest my case. During the ceremony, they had a little segment where they showed all the past Oscar hosts. From that video clip, they left out Whoopi Goldberg even though she had hosted 4 Oscars ceremonies. They talked about it in The View (the morning show that Whoopi Hosts with three other ladies). Whoopi was not angry about it. Next day, the Academy apologized and everyone was happy.

Feb 20, 2008 police arrested 2 paparazzi waiting for Lindsay Lohan. This is a big news in the industry. Over 10 years after Princess Diana's death, most of us got sick of the word paparazzi. Two photographers were arrested with misdemeanor charge (small case. Book & release). But there is a chance the law will get even tougher if they remain to be annoyances to the public.
Celebrities are human just like you and me. Can you imagine a bunch of thugs muscling their way up to your face 24/7? That's not helping already fragile young celebrities. I hope celebrities would get some break.

HD DVD or High-Definition DVD was a high-density optical disc format designed for the storage of data and high-definition video.
HD DVD was designed to be the successor to the standard DVD format and is derived from the same underlying technologies. Since all variants except the 3x DVD employed a blue laser with a shorter wavelength, it can store about 3¼ times as much data per layer as its predecessor (maximum capacity: 15 GB per layer instead of 4.7 GB per layer).
As of February 12, 2008, 386 HD DVD titles have been released in the USA. As of February 19, 2008, 214 HD DVD titles have been released in Japan, with 44 titles pending to be released.
HD DVD was in a "format war" with rival format Blu-ray Disc to determine which of the two formats would become the leading carrier for high-definition content to consumers. On February 19, 2008, after major content manufacturers and key retailers began to withdraw their support of the format, Toshiba made an official announcement to no longer develop, manufacture and market HD DVD players and recorders, effectively ending the High definition optical disc format war.
