On 31 August 2010 Douglas appeared on The David Letterman Show and confirmed that the cancer is at an advanced stage 4

It was announced on 16th of August 2010 that Douglas, a heavy smoker, was suffering from throat cancer and will undergo chemotherapy. Doctors expect him to make a full recovery.

Paris Hilton has been charged with felony drug possession following her Aug. 27 arrest in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police arrested Hilton last Friday after a motorcycle officer pulled over the heiress and her boyfriend, Cy Waits, on the Las Vegas Strip. The couple was stopped after the cop smelled marijuana smoke wafting from their SUV, which was being driven by Waits.

Nancy Dolman, Martin Short's wife, had suffered from cancer since 2007, but the cause of her death has not been made public.

Nancy Dolman was 58 years old at the time of her death.
Dolman and Short were married for 30 years.

After months of speculation, the marriage between Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren Woods is officially over: The couple were present at Bay County Circuit Court in Panama City, Fla., Monday for the execution of their divorce agreement.

Talk radio host Dr. Laura Schlessinger announced the end of her radio show (15 yrs national syndication) during an appearance on Larry King Live.

7 days earlier, on August 10, 2010, on a call with an African-American woman who was seeking advice concerning her own interracial marriage, Schlessinger used the "N" word eleven times, saying that mention of the term did not constitute racism. She told the caller that she had the right to say the word because black comedians and actors on HBO say it, and cited a previous race-related comment made by her that was "funny" (and was made to her bodyguard, a black man). She also claimed that black people voted for Barack Obama for President on the basis of skin color, as an example of blacks as well as whites making judgments based solely on skin color. Her call-in radio program occasionally features short monologues on social and political topics, but consists mainly of her responses to callers' requests for personal advice. After hip-replacement surgery Zsa Zsa Gabor was sent home from the UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center on August 11th. However, on Aug. 13, Gabor rushed back to the hospital due to bleeding and in a lot of pain.

Fantasia Barrino was hospitalized Charlotte, N.C. for medication overdose.  Fantasia was overdosed on aspirin and sleep aid.  Her injuries are not life threatening.

On July 29, 2010, Ellen DeGeneres and Fox executives announced that the comedienne would be departing from the series after one season. In a statement, DeGeneres said that the series "didn't feel like the right fit for me"

It's been less than 10 months since Ellen DeGeneres replaced Paula Abdule as a judge of the ninth season of American Idol.
